Fridge management

Set up your fridge in FridgeFlow, give it a name, and manage multiple storage units if you have a fridge and a separate freezer.

Your first fridge

When you create your household, FridgeFlow automatically creates a default fridge for you called "My Fridge". All the items you add go into this fridge unless you change it.

On the free plan, you have 1 fridge. Upgrading to Starter (up to 3) or Pro (unlimited) allows you to add more storage units (for example, a garage chest freezer or a second fridge).

Renaming your fridge

  1. 1

    Go to Settings → "Fridges"

Open Settings from the top-right menu, then choose the Fridges tab.

  2. 2

Tap the fridge name to edit it

Tap on the fridge card or the pencil icon next to its name.

  3. 3

    Enter the new name

Choose something descriptive like "Kitchen fridge", "Garage freezer", or "Office mini fridge".

  4. 4

    Save

Tap Save and the new name will appear everywhere in the app.

+ Add another fridge / freezer
  1. 1

    Go to Settings → "Fridges"

You'll see your existing storage units listed.

  2. 2

    Tap "+ Add another fridge"

This option appears at the bottom of the list. (Requires Starter plan or above for additional fridges.)

  3. 3

    Name it and save

Give it a descriptive name so you know which physical unit it represents.

Once you've added a second fridge, you'll see a fridge selector at the top of the Inventory page. Tap it to switch between storage units.

Fridge maintenance reminders

FridgeFlow has a dedicated Maintenance page where you can view and manage recurring cleaning tasks for every fridge in your household. Tasks are auto-created when you add a fridge and can be tracked in both calendar and list views.

  1. 1

    Go to the Maintenance page

Navigate to Maintenance in the sidebar. You'll see all tasks across all fridges, with colour-coded urgency badges (overdue, due soon, on schedule).

  2. 2

    Filter by fridge

Use the fridge selector at the top to focus on a specific fridge, or view all at once for a merged overview.

  3. 3

    Mark tasks as done

Tap Done on a task to complete it. FridgeFlow automatically calculates the next due date based on the interval (weekly, monthly, quarterly, etc.).

Cleaning your fridge regularly is one of the best ways to reduce food waste — you're forced to look at everything that's in there!

Common questions

Can I delete a fridge?
Yes — open the fridge in Settings and tap the Delete button. All items in that fridge will be deleted too. You cannot delete your last remaining fridge.
Can different household members see different fridges?
All household members see all fridges in the household. There's no per-member visibility control at this stage.
What if I have a pantry too, not just a fridge?
You can create a storage unit called "Pantry" and assign items to it, even if it's not actually a fridge. The storage zones work for any food storage area.
